Anna Dyachenko: Always Something More to Learn

For Anna Dyachenko, pickleball began with a simple favour.

While visiting Phoenix, Arizona, she stopped by a pickleball club on behalf of her mother-in-law. What started as an accidental introduction quickly became something much more lasting.

The game was easy to pick up, but Anna soon discovered that improvement was an entirely different pursuit. That balance—being accessible from the beginning while offering endless room to grow—is part of what has kept her engaged.

“I love the physical and mental challenges that competitive play presents,” Anna says. “The game never loses its appeal. There is always something to learn and something to get better at.”

That drive has taken the Canadian pickleball player from her unexpected introduction in Phoenix to national competition and the international stage.

From an Accidental Beginning to the National Stage

Anna’s pickleball journey has been shaped by significant competitive achievements.

In 2023, she won the Women’s Open Singles National Championship title—a defining moment that reflected the discipline, preparation and resilience required to compete at that level.

Two years later, Anna was selected to represent Canada at the 2025 Pickleball World Cup in Florida. Wearing the Canadian colours added another meaningful chapter to a journey that had begun simply by walking into a local club.

For Anna, however, competition is about more than results. She is drawn to the challenge of continually developing as a player: reading the game more carefully, strengthening the mental side of competition and recognizing that progress is never truly finished.

It is an outlook that closely reflects what Respect the Line means to NONVØLI: showing up with awareness, respecting the game and remaining committed to doing things with purpose.

The People Who Make Pickleball Matter

Tournaments have also given Anna opportunities to travel, experience new places and build friendships with players from across the country.

“The community is so welcoming,” she says. “There are so many wonderful people and players out there, and it’s so much fun getting to know them.”

One of the most meaningful relationships to come from the game is her friendship with fellow pickleball player and NONVØLI ambassador Kim Layton. Meeting Kim—and becoming best friends—stands alongside Anna’s competitive accomplishments as one of the defining parts of her journey.

Together, they have trained, travelled and collected memories well beyond the results recorded on a tournament bracket. Their friendship reflects something familiar to many players: pickleball may bring people onto the court, but the relationships formed around it are often what make them stay.

Life Beyond the Pickleball Court

The same energy Anna brings to pickleball runs through the rest of her life.

She is a mother to one son, and they enjoy spending time outdoors together—rollerblading, biking and kayaking. Movement is a natural part of her routine, whether she is competing, practising yoga or working through one of Caroline Girvan’s YouTube training programs with Kim.

Anna has taught yoga since 2019 and continues to practise both at the studio and at home. The focus, body awareness and patience found in yoga complement the qualities she values as an athlete.

Away from training, Anna enjoys reading books focused on enlightenment and personal growth. She values deep conversations with friends just as much as the moments when laughter takes over completely.

Music is another constant in her life, and dancing is one of the ways she expresses herself most naturally.

Together, these interests reveal someone who is curious, active and continually evolving—on the court and away from it.

Coaching, Growth and What Comes Next

Anna is now looking ahead to the next stage of her pickleball journey.

She hopes to grow and expand her coaching brand, build her social media community and continue developing as a competitive player. Coaching offers another way to participate in the sport: helping other players recognize their potential while sharing the knowledge she has gained through competition and experience.

Her goals are not centred on reaching a final destination. They reflect the same idea that first drew her into pickleball: there will always be another lesson, another challenge and another opportunity to improve.

Anna Dyachenko Joins Team NONVØLI

Anna’s connection with NONVØLI began with two straightforward things: great apparel and the people behind it.

That simplicity matters. NONVØLI was created from inside the game for people who see pickleball as part of their everyday lives. Anna represents that naturally—as a competitor, coach, mother, friend and active member of the pickleball community.

We are proud to welcome Anna to Team NONVØLI and to support what she is building next.

Her story is a reminder that pickleball is never only about what happens during a match. It is also about where the game takes you, the people you meet and the person you continue becoming along the way.
