Anna began competing seriously in 2021 and has since built an impressive competitive career. Anna is one of the most decorated players in the league. She won the Canadian Nationals women's open singles championship in 2023 and followed it up with gold at NAPP in Edmonton in 2025. An early draft pick for the Vancouver Owls in season 3, and also playing in season 4, 2026 — and made history along the way as the first player to go undefeated all weekend at the Western Split (July 2025). This season, she's claimed three double-golds in both mixed and women's play: the APA Western Open in Red Deer (April 2026), the Kamloops Open (May 2026), and the Fraser Valley Open (August 2026).
Originally from Kazakhstan and now based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Anna Dyachenko discovered pickleball almost by accident.
While visiting Phoenix, Arizona in 2014, she stopped by a pickleball club on behalf of her mother-in-law. She tried the game, was hooked immediately, and has been playing ever since. What began as something easy to learn soon became an ongoing pursuit of improvement.
For Anna, the appeal goes beyond results. She loves the physical and mental challenge of competition, the friendships built through the sport, and the opportunity to travel, compete, and connect with players from across the country.
Pickleball can mean different things to different people. For some, it’s a way to stay active and exercise in a fun way. For some, it’s a sense of community and belonging. Others see it as a competitive outlet. Whatever pickleball is to you is your choice and is to be respected and never judged/questioned. Let’s celebrate diversity within pickleball!
Remember to keep having fun, whether you’re having a good or a bad day on the court; having fun will always have you coming back for more.
Putting to test the hours of physical and mental work that happened behind the scenes; seeing friends from all over who showed up to compete; going out for celebratory meals after the events.
I look intimidating on the court but I’m a big softie. I love a good laugh and I cry over movies.
Spending time with my son; eating; working out; planning and organizing coaching sessions.
