MEET KIM

6× National Champion • CNPL Athlete • Pro Coach

Kim Layton is a six-time National Champion, CNPL athlete and pro coach whose pickleball journey began seven years ago with a simple reason: to spend more time with her dad.

What started with the two of them playing mixed doubles grew into a drive to see how far she could take her game. Today, Kim competes at a 5.6 DUPR, is in her fourth season of the CNPL, and has earned gold at both NAPP and APA events.

Competition is only part of Kim's story. She loves the strategy of the game, the challenge of continuing to improve, and the way pickleball brings together people of different ages and backgrounds. As a coach, she now gets to pass along what she's learned to other players.

Off the court, Kim is a mom of four, an Ironman finisher and a personal trainer. She's driven and disciplined, but equally grounded in family, friendship and enjoying life along the way.

For Kim, Respect the Line comes down to consistency and discipline—in how she trains, how she plays and how she lives.

Six Questions

01

What does "Respect the Line" mean to you?

For me it speaks to consistency and discipline.

Bring consistent and disciplined in how I train, play and live is important to me.

02

What's one piece of advice you'd give to someone new to pickleball?

Play and drill with lots of different people! You’ll make lots of friends and your game will develop by learning from and responding to their games.

03

What's your favourite part of tournament weekends?

The challenge of figuring out the strategy for opponents and battling it out with a partner! It’s a neat puzzle to figure out how your strengths blend with your partners strengths and also how to target each opponent.

04

What's something people would never guess about you?

I’m a health nut in a lot of ways but I also love having flexibility for treats. Costco poutine and ice cream and a favorite for our family.

05

When you're not on the court, where are we most likely to find you?

At the gym or at home with my family! I have been following Caroline Girvan workouts for about 5 years now and I have a love/hate relationship with because they are so hard but I also love the challenge. We try to eat family dinners together as often as we can and I love that time to hear about each others day and connect.

06

Do you have a favourite NONVØLI piece so far?

Yes I love the Suns Out Funs Our Zip Jacket! I love the beautiful colors, the soft material and it’s really just the perfect hoodie in the style and fit. Plus the arm sleeves are long enough for me which is great because I’m so tall.
